Micki’s Story
Micki, Reiki Master Practitioner, gratefully dedicates her Reiki healing practice to her Japanese ancestors. She was born in a small mountain village in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. In farming communities without a hospital or drug stores in the 1950s, people relied upon natural healing methods that were passed down through the generations. This is the tradition she hopes to honor.
Micki discovered her passion for health and wellness later in life, taking inspiration from a quote by Les Brown. “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”. After retirement from hotel management she became a certified personal trainer specializing in fitness for older adults. More recently in her mid 70s she found her calling to serve the community through Reiki healing.
She volunteers at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard providing Reiki treatments to patients in conjunction with their conventional medical treatments.
To honor the origin of Reiki, Micki’s practice is named Seishin Reiki Healing. Seishin (pronounced SAY-SHIN) is a Japanese word which translates as Mind, Soul, Heart, and Intention.
It is her heartfelt intention to help create balance and harmony in individual lives, and the world.
